sunlight on the double gauze

Babies. Quilts. So good together.

A dear friend from way back when recently had a baby. The Heather Ross double gauze frog print quilt is for her, because she has always loved frogs, and I know how good and soft and drapey that quilt will feel wrapped around her little boy.

The other quilts are for mystery babies. I made them for the Ann Arbor Modern Quilt Guild’s show and sale. They came back home with me, so I’ve put them in my etsy shop.

This arrow quilt is an idea I was playing around with, trying to quilt a Latvian braid (a knit stitch). The arrow is on a 30 degree angle, instead of the easier-to-work-with 45 degree angle. It looked more like the braid that way. I had also wanted to get a straight striped piece in between the two angled ones, but it didn’t quite work out. I think the quilt is still quite cute as it is, though. Simple.

And this houses quilt comes from a top I made some time back and then allowed to linger. I thought to finish it up once I had the perfect little creature to live in the pocket door—one of my Mama Cat kittens! It’s much more fun that way.

More quilting is underway. I have a binding session planed for this evening on the couch.
