my charming bag

I try my best to be charming, really I do

Isn't it nice to make something that you've wanted to make forever? The charming bag from Amy Karol's book has been on my list forever. I've even had the fabric picked out. I finally up and made it, and I'm pretty pleased with the way it came out.

I added a pocket to the inside because I really need a place to put my chapstick. I am wishing that I sandwiched a tie closure in between the lining and body layers because it doesn't so much want to stay closed when I use it. But, it's very cute and has made me happy this whole one day that I've carried it. The fabric is a leftover decorator's sample of chintz I got at the flea market last year.

The chicks are doing very well. They'd like to give a shout-out to their adoring public.

Sara's Gravatar Hi! I came here from my sis's (gigi) blog. That is the cutest purse I've ever seen! I love sewing and knitting but could never take on something like that. Also congrats on getting in the books. Very cool.

Janis's Gravatar Adorable purse. How did I get here? I don't even remember - could it be from Pink Lemonade or Stitch Lounge? I've just found so many cool things today. But when I found your blog I was amused by the mention of "the one and only Farmer City". I thought how funny, there must be more than one since we have one in Illinois too. What a surprise when I dug around long enough to find that's where you are! I ws born and raised in Southern Illinois but my father spent part of his childhood in Farmer City and my grandmother spoke of it often. Love your stuff (I've bookmarked your blog) and thanks for giving me a OMG moment!
