where should I go in London?

nest

Work is sending me to London. The trip came up pretty suddenly, so there hasn't been much planning on my end. Are there any crafty-type things I really need to do while I'm there? Does anyone know? And in case you're wondering, no, I do not usually travel internationally for business. This is not the usual.

A robin built this nest too close to the driveway then abandoned it. It didn't work, but so pretty. Thank you very much for your kind words about our chickens.

Erica's Gravatar I forgot to mention this earlier but Felicia from SweetGeorgia (http://blog.sweetgeorgiayarns.com/) just got back from London and she went to some pretty cool places.

Have a fabulous time in London. Hopefully you'll find a great keepsake for Beebs.

Lemon Tree Tami's Gravatar Liberty's great and all that, but if you really want something different go to the Button Queen for a fabulous selection of antique and vintage buttons. http://www.thebuttonqueen.co.uk/

And nearby is a trim shop ... VV Rouleaux

Have a great trip!

Marisa's Gravatar London sounds great, but I've never been, so hope you get some good ideas from others.
I adore your blog and need to go back and read your archives. I will have to point to you on my blog roll too once I get around to updating it. You may want to kick me, but I live in the bay area and I've never been to Britex to shop for Liberty fabric. Guess I know what I'm getting up to next Saturday! Thanks a million for the great idea.

starry's Gravatar Hello! I just happened across your blog.

For me the V&A museum is a must stop. It's an interesting museum in totality but I especially like the textiles and period costume. It's a huge place!

I can't comment on the markets though as I haven't been to any in a long time.

Have a great time!

mimi k's Gravatar I would second Liberty's and the V&A. Then add, if you want something outside and fantastic, the Highgate Cemetery. It is amazing.

Erika's Gravatar Hi there! I am a certified lurker of your blog, but I thought that I should come out of hiding to share... London is a fantastic city! VV Rouleaux is wonderful (pricey, but wonderful). Also stop by John Lewis on Oxford street--they have some wonderful trims and yarns. Liberty is not to be missed. For a fun (and fairly inexpensive) dining try the Crypt at St. Martins in the Field. While in the area of St. Martin's go to the National Gallery--it has a fantastic Impressionist collection. Oh, and I forgot to mention Selfridges on Oxford Street...they sell everything! I'd be happy to share more--just email!
